October has been a busy month full of fun, fun, fun! This
time of year has always been my favorite, and with Emerson’s birthday I have
even more of a reason to get excited!
We started off the month by celebrating baby girl turning
ONE!
I played in a memorial volleyball tournament for my friend
Jenna’s memorial scholarship fund. It
was great to see and visit with friends I haven’t been able to see in a long
time. It was a GREAT morning of volleyball and remembering Jenna. I can’t wait to play next year!
That night we celebrated Sadie at her wedding shower. We went and had dinner at a cute little
restaurant in Denton and then went back to Stacy’s house for dessert. I ordered more cupcakes from the same gal
that made Emerson’s birthday cake and cupcakes.
I will find any excuse to get cupcakes!
We went to the pumpkin patch! I dressed us for fall
weather…because that’s what you do when you go to the pumpkin patch. And it ended up being 90 degrees. There were people EVERYWHERE. Our trip did not last long but we were able
to get a few cute pictures. J We then went to brunch with Clay and
Josephine. It’s always good to catch up
with them! They got Emerson two super cute Aggie shirts for her birthday.
Emerson started confidently walking at 12 ½ months! She
started out taking 2-3 steps at a time and it seems like overnight she began to
be able to walk all the way across our living room! She is getting much better
with her balance and if she falls down she is able to get right back up and go!
She has started trying to say “I love you” and she will blow
you kisses and given (open mouth) kisses.
She has started saying "shoes" and will tell you "moo" when you ask her what a cow says.

She was a pumpkin for Halloween! She wasn’t sure about her
costume when we first put it on, it made it a little more difficult to walk in
which she wasn’t a fan of...but boy was she cute!

The next morning I flew out to Charleston for Sadie’s
wedding. It has been such a fun trip! I
was able to travel and stay with Stacy, we have had a great time!
Unfortunately, they were experiencing a cold snap so even though our hotel was
right on the beach, we weren’t able to spend much time out there.
Sadie’s wedding was beautiful! She got married in a
courtyard outside, although it was pretty chilly, it warmed up a bit in the
sun. It was fun to celebrate with her
and Jason! I wish them all the best!!
After the wedding we went to Downtown Charleston with Elissa and her parents. They were so nice to chauffeur us around all night. We actually got to see where they filmed the scene in the Notebook where Noah and Allie lay in the street outside of the movie theater! So cool!
It was a busy busy weekend and now I'm back at school. Today we went to LISDOLA. It was very icky--perfect fall weather for my to lay on the couch with a good book and a hot cup of coffee...but instead I was walking around on trails. Needless to say, I'm happy to be home with Emmy! (Unfortunately, Nathan has to work tonight.)
Now that I'm posting this we are working our way well into November! These next few weeks are going to be very busy at work. I am very much looking forward to Thanksgiving break. Emerson says she is too--she can't wait for turkey and apple pie ;)
I hope you all had a fantastic October and are as excited as I am about it almost being Christmas time!
