I cannot believe our little girl is 6 months old already. Half a year ago today we met her for the very first time. Wow! It's going by too fast :(
She loves to be read to! Her favorite book lately is "Biscuit and the Bunny." She starts kicking her feet and cooing as soon as I open it up. :)
Fascinated by her ability to blow bubbles
Still "teething" but no tooth yet
We made the transition to her sleeping in the big girl crib in her own room. My heart! I missed her so much because I was used to waking up and being able to look over and see her. I think it was harder on me than it was on her! She's been a champ at going to bed on her own, but she still wakes up between 2 and 4 to be fed.
Starting making the "squishy" face (It's my favorite)
Had a play date with her friends :)
LOVES having her back scratched
Started inch worming, and can scoot herself backwards. She is also rolling all over the place!
VERY interested in food. She tries to grab our plates (and cups) all the time. She has tried avocado, sweet potato, bananas, and peas. She seemed to like all of them but peas seem to be her favorite! (She must get that from her dad)

| More peas please! |
 |
| Yummy avocado! |
 |
| Not sure about sweet potatoes though... |
 |
| Grabbing everything in sight! |
Wants to stand up all the time so the bouncer is our new best friend.
Reaches out for things, especially for her bottle and her Tuck Tuck.
LOVES a good game of peek-a-boo! She laughs hysterically.
Still enjoys snuggling with Daddy, but she must know how exhausted he is because she just lays in bed in the mornings (while I'm at work...boo!) and plays while he sleeps. When she finally can't stand it any longer she'll start to pet his face or start tapping him on the arm. They melt my heart!
Has started saying dadadadadadada...I guess we know what her first word will be!
Sat with us in big church for the first time on Sunday. We were nervous because she loves to hear herself jibber jabber but she did great! Nathan only had to get up once. It was the BEST feeling to be able to worship together with our little family. Emerson was captivated by the music.
Our friend Katie took Emerson's 6 month/Easter pictures on Sunday. It was soooo windy but Emerson did great! I have a feeling 95% of the pictures will have her tongue sticking out--but that's her! I can't wait to see them. And don't worry...there will probably be a whole blog post dedicated to them. I know you're looking forward to it!
In other news, we bought a new car! One that is more family friendly and gas efficient. I loved our truck but the gas was eating us alive. We got a Ford Escape. And this is how much Nathan and I see each other...we had the new car for 2 days before I even got to see it! He took me for a spin in it last night when he got home from work, I love it!
Our work schedules are completely opposite so seeing each other is a bit rare these days. We both feel like single parents! He has Emerson in the morning and then goes to work at 1 and I pick her up after work around 5 and have her in the evenings. It is impossibly difficult to juggle a full time job that often times requires me to work even after I get home, being a new mom, and keeping up with our house. This year I have felt a little like a zombie.
I think God heard my despair and out of the blue one of my friends that I met at UNT asked if she could rent out our guest room. Kendall moved in with us almost 2 months ago and it has been awesome! She cooks dinner, we work out together, she helps out with Emerson. She is a literal God send! Aside from all that she does to help out, I am so grateful to just have her company. She is a first year teacher as well so we completely understand one another's struggles. I'm SO lucky to have her support and friendship! It has been the best situation and I am going to be so sad to see her go when she gets married in August.
Emerson, this month I have discovered that you are a spunky little girl with your own personality. You are a joy and we love you so much! Happy 6 months my sweet girl :)
