Emerson is THREE!

I cannot believe that our baby girl is already three.  She has grown so much this past year and developed even more into her own personality.

Emerson at THREE:

Sleeps in her big girl bed, surrounded by an army of stuffed animals

Loves our bedtime routine of books, prayers, and snuggles

Looks forward to going to church so she can play with her friends and sing songs about Jesus

Is a brave girl who loves to climb on and jump off of everything

Makes up her own silly songs

Enjoys Star Wars, Peppa Pig, Disney princesses, and super heroes! ...very diverse taste :)

Loves to snuggle

Favorite meal is breakfast, like her mama! Pancakes are a must

Enjoys going to the library to get new books and play games on the computers

Says our blessing before meals

Wants to be a dinosaur for Halloween

Can spell her name (orally)

Loves making her own creations with play doh, painting, coloring, etc.

We celebrated her with a Rapunzel birthday party this year.  She had the best time partying with her friends and family.  I always get a kick out of her blowing out the candles on her cake--this year she knew exactly what to do! We got her a bicycle and she has been practicing in the house (parent fail?) but she's really getting the hang of it!

Happy Birthday to our smart, beautiful, spunky, strong willed Emerson Paige!

Tucker

A month ago we lost our sweet Tucker.  I wanted to have pictures together to show Emerson and Eleanor (so sad Ellie didn't get to meet him) but also to pay tribute to our fur baby!

Nathan adopted Tucker while we were still in school at A&M.  We were still just dating, but Tucker won me over with his sweet little puppy self and he quickly became mine too!

He was the cutest little puppy.  I remember the first time we took him on a walk he got tired and laid down on the sidewalk so we had to carry him home.

He has been through every move with us, and has always been able to quickly settle into a new place.
His favorite place in the house would definitely be the couch (which he isn't supposed to get on) or our bed.

He weighed 85 pounds but was the world's snuggliest lap dog.

His favorite thing to do would be to play fetch or chew on a rawhide...after a certain point he would get tired of his bone and discard it.  We found remnants all around the house!

His tail was a WHIP! He put a dent into an aluminum trashcan...and items or drinks on tables were an absolute no-no at our house.

He was an awesome alert dog with a very menacing bark.  I never had to worry when Nathan would go out of town.

Tucker was fiercely protective of his people, which meant he didn't get along with dogs or strangers very well.

He ate anything and everything he could find.  We could not leave anything on the table or counters, and we had to buy a trashcan that locked.  He ripped apart a few lunch boxes, got into the trashcan countless times, ate two full containers of baby formula on separate occasions...he was such a mess!

My buddy!

Best Buddies

To our sweet Tuck Tuck:
You were a mess of a pup but we loved you more than you will ever know! Thank you for all of the kisses, snuggles, and companionship.  There is a hole in our hearts, but we know you are playing endless amounts of fetch and chewing on all of the rawhides imaginable! You were our first baby, and we miss you so so much.
