Emerson is TWO!

We didn't disappear! Not only that...but we just celebrated Emerson's 2nd birthday! I have been SO bad about posting, but life is busy right now! We are finally getting a little breather on this three day weekend and I told Nathan this morning that the blog was on my to-do list...and to not let me go to bed tonight unless I had posted. Haha!

Emerson is TWO! I can't believe it! It seriously feels like yesterday that we were bringing her home in her carrier, she was so tiny!

She is no longer tiny in size...or attitude.

I wanted to blog about her 2nd birthday not only to let you see some cute pictures of us celebrating, but to also fill you in on what she has been up to, and all she has accomplished in the past couple of months.

Emerson is in the midst of potty training, she is still having a couple of accidents, but she is really getting used to using her big girl potty--now if we can get her to tell us when she needs to go!

She loves to go down the "big girl" slides at the park, or be outside--period.

She can sing her ABC's and count to ten!

She loves to go to the library and find new books.

Her hair is still as curly as ever!

She has learned a few choice phrases as a toddler that I wish would go away..."stop it" "no mama" "no ma'am" "I don't like that." Whew! God is testing our patience in a real way. It's a good thing He's patient with us as well!

She is OBSESSED with the movie Beethoven. Yes...the one from the 1990's with the St.Bernard. Wreck it Ralph, 101 Dalmatians, and Minions are a close second.

She enjoys singing in the car! Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a favorite.

She is talking up a storm.  Listening to her string words together into short phrases, or to ask questions is exciting!

She might turn into a popsicle at the rate she enjoys eating them, chocolate milk is another frequent request at our house.

She loves going to school and learning and playing at Mrs. Marti's with her friends.

She is getting better and better about going into the nursery on Sundays! :)

She still enjoys coloring, putting puzzles together, and reading.

She has just recently become more interested in hanging around with Tucker.

She loves to go "swimming" in the bathtub. "Mommy look! I swimmin!"

Her actual birthday was on a Friday this year so keeping with the tradition--we both took off work and spent the entire day celebrating our girl.  We started off by sleeping in, that was enough to celebrate in and of itself! :)

Nathan made us a huge birthday breakfast spread, complete with chocolate chip pancakes.

She blew out candles on her birthday pancakes and then we got ready to head to the pumpkin patch.  She LOVED the pumpkin patch and still talks about going anytime she sees pumpkins.  She played in the jump houses while we were there and saw tons of her favorite cartoon characters.  She kept finding little pumpkins to put into our wagon...we had to keep secretly putting them back. (Until we found the perfect one.

Then, on Saturday we celebrated her birthday with some of our friends and family! She had a great time getting to play with all of her friends and she was actually interested in opening her presents this year.  We did a Dalmatian theme since puppies are her favorite things lately.
