It's a....

Girl!!! 

I don't know what we were thinking when we scheduled our appointment for 3:00, we had to wait allllllll day and by the time we arrived at the doctor's office the suspense was killing us! We decided to bring both of our moms along and I'm so glad they were there.

This whole time I've had a feeling that we were having a girl.  The doctor said she didn't see any "outdoor plumbing"  and I looked over at Nathan and said, "We were right!"

I would say that I was equally as excited to just be able to see baby again as getting to find out the gender.  It's amazing how much she has developed! We got to see her little bitty hands and feet...oh my goodness, they are precious! She weights a whopping 14 ounces.

The doctor told me to eat a sugary snack or drink a soda before I came in hopes that the sugar would cause the baby to move around a little bit.  We stopped by the store on the way so I could get a candy bar.  That peanut butter cup did the trick, she was moving around like crazy! It was tough to follow what body part we were supposed to be looking at because she would change positions so often.  Cute little thing!

Praise God for a healthy growing baby girl!  We are beyond thrilled and are so anxious to meet her in October. Let the buying of bows and dresses commence!

Two weeks ago I started nannying again. It's strange to take care of someone besides little Sully Wully but these girls are adorable too! We go to the park every day almost, they love to play and play and play. I'm really enjoying it, and it's good for me to have a set schedule for my days so I don't end up being completely unproductive this summer. The only thing that stinks is that my work hours are the opposite of Nathan's so we don't get to see each other as much...big bummer!

Last Friday my family (minus Nathan...boo) headed to Lufkin for my cousin's graduation.  Joseph is the 6th Loggins grandkid to graduate, only 5 more to go! They're all getting so old, it makes me sad. It feels like just yesterday we were all playing in the dirt together...which we did quite a lot of.  Now he's graduated from college and is off to do great things with his life! Love you Joseph, so proud of you!

After his graduation we headed to Del Rio's where we got to catch up with family.  They were all enamored with the baby bump!  I had to clarify multiple times that we still don't know the sex of the baby, I swear they thought we knew and we were keeping it from them.  Lol but stay tuned because we find out next week! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! :)

Saturday morning we headed out to the Loggins family cemetery.  Why, you ask?  For our family reunion of course! Growing up I never thought twice about the fact that our family gets together to catch up and eat good food with one another at a cemetery.  It wasn't until I got older that I realized how unique and slightly strange that is to the rest of the world aside from good ole East Texas.  I didn't get any pictures at the family reunion but I have a few from the rest of the day!

Precious Sally Sue

We headed to College Station Saturday afternoon to move Katie back in before she started summer school.  It was quite a long weekend and we drove back (minus Katie) to Lewisville on Sunday morning after a solid breakfast at Cracker Barrel. 

Last week was pretty normal.  We both worked.  Nathan was off on Tuesday so he went golfing with Clay.  That boy loves to golf! Thursday night I met up with some of my friends that I haven't seen in a while. We had dinner at Anamia's.  I ate my weight in chips and salsa! It was great to catch up, I love hearing about everyone's lives. We have two nurses in the group so I was given a lesson...or twelve on pregnancy and childbirth.  Great dinner conversation, let me tell you :) 

Friday night I went to the Josh Abbott concert with my friend, Elizabeth.  She moved back to Lewisville so I'm  excited to see her more now! The concert was 5 bucks so everyone and their dog showed up, it was PACKED! Thankfully we took our lawn chairs so we camped out at the top of the hill, we had a great view until it became so crowded that butt's kept inching closer and closer to our face.  Oh well, they put on a great concert!

This weekend I laid low while Nathan worked and worked. Poor boy--that's all he does these days. This is the first weekend we've been home in a month! June should be a little more on the subdued side...and for that I am very thankful.

Last but not least, I would like to wish my parents a happy 29th anniversary! They are still so in love after almost thirty years, and I'm so grateful to have them as my parents.  I love them and the example that they have set for us.  Hopefully, all three of us will follow in their wedded bliss :)

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Farris! ..and the baby bump makes its debut!

This weekend was a whirlwind! We started out on Thursday by attending our friend's wedding rehearsal in Azle, Texas. After getting stuck in a heap of traffic we finally made it out to the orchard. It is beautiful out there! They practiced walking through the ceremony while I took in all the scenery...including some cute but ornery cows. Once the rehearsal ended we headed to my favorite pizza place, Pazzo's for a little pick-me-up pasta. Thanks for indulging me boo! After dinner we met up with some friends at a bar in Addison. It was great to catch up and I enjoyed my hand crafted root beer. :)

Nathan was supposed to be off work on Friday so we had big plans to finally go to the movies. (I'm a movie guru and ever since we moved to Lewisville we've drastically cut back on going because it's so expensive--what a bummer!) Anyways, he got called into work early so our plans changed and I ended up hanging out by the pool with Katie. Not a bad way to spend a couple hours. Baby must enjoy being in the sun, the little booger was moving around a lot!

Saturday we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Brio in Allen for Clay and Josephine's rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious and I had fun listening to everybody tell fun stories about their relationship. Clay got the groomsmen awesome monogrammed ties for them to wear in the wedding and monogrammed drinking glasses.

Sunday was the big day! We started out our morning by going to church with my family. Then Nathan headed out to help set up for the wedding. I got ready with Courtney and then left for the wedding with my mother-in-law. We arrived with enough time to mingle with a few people before the ceremony began. It was good to see a lot of friends that I haven't seen since we graduated! Crazy how time flies. Everything was decorated so beautifully, Josephine must have spend a lot of time on the details! Nathan was the Best Man so I wasn't able to see him before the wedding. He looked so handsome in his suit! We have been friends with these two for a long time and we knew it was only a matter of time before they got married...we're so happy they finally tied the knot!

So glad we got to see Heathy and Ashlyn!! We miss you guys so much!

Brother-sister-love

We spent the evening dancing and mingling...and I don't know about everyone else but I ate A LOT. The cake was delicious and they had a cute little popcorn bar. I'm embarrassed to say I filled my goody bag up more than once! It was a really fun night! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Farris! We love you both!

Changing gears slightly....today I'm officially 20 weeks along! That's right--halfway there! I know I haven't posted pictures of my bump but it's because until very recently I didn't really have a noticeable one. I feel like it has popped up out of nowhere! I'm still wearing all of my normal clothes but my pants and shorts are getting really snug...maternity clothes may be in my near future!

Happy 20 weeks, baby! Keep growing!

A ranch wedding for Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf

This weekend we headed to Spring Branch, Texas to see our good friend Jacob Metcalf marry his sweetheart, Lauren. They are two of the coolest people you will ever meet, so we were very excited to get to celebrate with them!

We drove down on Friday when Nathan got off work...which was two hours later than we had originally planned. Getting stuck in 5 o'clock traffic was less than ideal. It took us 6 hours before we finally made it to San Antonio. What a drive...we were exhausted when we pulled into the hotel at midnight! Our friends Andrew and Rebecca stayed at the same hotel so Nathan hung out with them for a bit that night...while this exhausted preggo girl passed out in the room.

Saturday the boys had to attend to their groomsmen duties so Rebecca and I passed the time by doing a little shopping. The wedding was actually an hour away so we got ready and then headed out to Spring Branch. They got married on a beautiful ranch in what seemed like the middle of nowhere.

The ceremony was performed in an open field. It was so beautiful, the sun was setting as they exchanged their vows. Their cute pup , Franklin, meandered around and finally laid down right at their feet! I thought it was awesome that they incorporated him in the ceremony. He was even dressed for the occasion with a black bow tie...precious!

We all enjoyed a lovely dinner while the sun set, and it was great to mingle and catch up with all of our friends. Nathan got me on the dance floor, which is not easy. He's a good dancer, I just have two left feet. Oh well, it was a lot of fun!

I just love weddings, I always think back to our own wedding and what a special day that was for us. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf, we wish you all the happiness in the world. Enjoy your adventure together!

Moving again annnnnd celebrating Mom!

This weekend was supposed to be nice and relaxing. Things just really never turn out the way we think they will... and my weekend was once again spent helping to move us out of our College Station rental house. Nathan wasn't able to get two days off work like he thought he would and I knew that there was a substantial amount of work still left to be done, there is no way he could have gotten everything done by himself. As annoying as moving can be, I'm really glad I went because it gave us some quality one on one time in the car...time to just hold hands and reminisce on our time in College Station. He's lovely enough to drive so I also caught up on some reading which was so very nice.

Thank goodness help was waiting when we arrived. Willis, Jesse, and Derek--y'all are great people! Thanks again for your help! Without y'all we would probably still be trying to figure out how to get it done. They spent all day making trips to the storage unit while I stayed back and finished packing up boxes and getting the house cleaned. I obviously wasn't lifting heavy boxes or anything but I think that simply working all day wiped me out. For our last night as College Station residents we slept on the floor of our bedroom It was uncomfortable but we were so tired we didn't care. And I'm glad we were able to spend our last night in the house.

The next morning we slept in a little and then got to work. Nathan made one run to the storage unit and brought back my all time favorite College Station cuisine--FUEGO. We eat there every time we're in town. Boy was it good! Little break of eating on top of boxes and then back to work! We wrapped up around 1:30 and then packed up the truck with what couldn't fit in the storage unit. (I'm still trying to figure out how we have so much stuff...)

As we were pulling out of town Nathan started rummaging around in the side of his car door. As he pulled out a James Avery bag he said "Happy Mother's Day," with a cute little smirk on his face. It turned out to be a sweet little pair of earrings. They're two hearts put together that make a butterfly. I won't bore you with all the mushy details. Let's just say I love this boy a lot and I'm so excited that we're going to be parents together. He is my best friend and I know he will be the best dad to our little one! It was so sweet for him to remember me on my sort of first Mother's Day. :)

It IS very crazy that this next year I will be a mom. Mother's day brought on a whole new meaning this year...it left me feeling very grateful but almost speechless at the same time. I'm so thankful for my mom and all that she has done for me over the years. She's one of the most hard working people I know, and she gives so much of herself and expects nothing in return. We have had our fair share of rough patches but I feel like we are closer now than ever. I'm thankful that we've moved back because I get to see my parents a lot more. I usually have dinner with them a couple of times a week...if not more. What can I say? I missed her cooking while I was away! It's just really nice to be able to decompress with her about life. She's a good listener but boy does she have a lot to say. I think that is what most of my friends would say about her if you asked them. I really don't think that she has ever met a stranger. Sometimes that can be embarrassing but she finds a friend everywhere she goes. I love that woman, and I'm proud to be her daughter. She calls the baby, "bean." I told her if she's not careful the name might stick and I think our poor child would have a rough lot in life with a name like "Bean Eltzholtz." But she is very excited about little bean and I can't wait to see her hold him or her for the first time. She will be an awesome grandma, mawmaw, nana, gigi, or whatever she decides to go by.

This weekend was full of sentimental memories. We said goodbye to 203B Richards and hello to an exciting future. Life is sometimes stressful but it's important to focus on the beauty of it all.

Speaking of beautiful things...I'm 18 weeks along today! We went to the doctor on Friday and got to hear baby's heartbeat again, everything sounded normal, praise God! There really is no sweeter sound than hearing that little heartbeat. So neat!

April showers bring May...MADNESS

This month is off to a buuuuusy start, and the rest of May looks like it's going to follow suit!

Friday, I headed down to College Station with my parents to pack up the rest of our house and help Katie get her stuff (I had no idea she could cram soooo much junk into that tiny tiny space) out of her dorm room. Let me just say, moving is for the freakin birds. I am not a fan of lugging boxes to and fro...especially down flights of stairs. BUT...it's over. Or at least my part is. Nathan will be heading down next weekend to finish moving out of our stuff.

I'm sad we're leaving our second home together...but on to bigger and better things! And wherever we live next, we will most definitely be staying there longer than a year.

While I was packing our lives into a thousand boxes, Nathan was partying it up for two of his friend's bachelor parties. He headed to Austin on Friday for Jacob's, and then back to DFW for Clay's. I can't wait for their weddings...and I won't have to wait long because they'll be here before I know it.

Now I'm spending some quality time with my new favorite hulu show "The Mindy Project", Tuck Tuck, and an ice pack.

We're having a baby?!?

We're so glad the news is finally out! :) That was one tough secret to keep. We are soooo excited for this season of our lives and can't wait to meet our little lovebug in October! Tucker seems to sense that something is going on. He cuddles with me more, and lays his head on my stomach a lot. It's pretty dang sweet.

I'm getting a little bit of a tummy, which seems to be on schedule since I'm exactly thirteen weeks along today. I haven't had any super weird cravings but salty salty salty is in right now! Cheez-its are my new best friend! Thankfully, I'm moving into the second trimester and should be getting my energy back. The last few weeks I have been exhausted all the time! I'm not feeling nauseous anymore so that is definitely a plus!

We have our next appointment this coming Friday! We're both looking forward to seeing how much bigger baby has gotten since our last appointment. They grow so fast. Apparently the little miss or mr. already has all body parts, and now he or she is focusing solely on growing. It really is an amazing process, our God is seriously marvelous. He thought of it all!

I thought I would share a few more of our announcement pictures with y'all. Courtney had fun taking them! And believe it or not, Nathan picked out all of the baby accessories by himself. He's pretty excited about it all :)
